Abstract

Girls Street hawking refers to selling of items by young girls along the streets and other public places from sun rise to sun set. Street hawking is a common practice among the developing countries around the globe. It is obvious that these street hawkers are among the children out of school, who spend most of their day cycling the streets in absence of parents or guardians. This paper intends to study the practice and consequences of street hawking by young girls with the aim of identifying the causes that send the girls to the street and suggesting the possible ways to overcome the problem.
