Abstract

Effective communication is an important element that must be present by each student, whether to meet their needs during the process of education, preparation for the workplace or through social interaction.This study was conducted to identify the level of communication skills among the undergraduate students of education.This survey study involves 152 samples of 6th semester student of Bachelor of Education program using the questionnaire as a research instrument.The results show that the communication skills of students education is at a high level but the ability to speak English is still at a low level. T-test analysis, also showed no significant difference between the level of communication skills by gender.The study also found that communication skills have a significant relationship with academic achievement.Based on this review, the university must pay attention to ensure that undergraduate student from education program have a good knowledge of the language either Malay or English influence the communication skills among teachers in Malaysia.
