Abstract

Focusing on improving the engagement issues of Malaysian digital traditional games, a traditional version of marble game has been developed with some enhancements. This study has been conducted in four main phases; analysis and design of the enhanced game, development of the 3A Guli game, human experimental test, and engagement analysis. The 3A guli is designed and developed in mobile platform and playable in Android environment. To measure player’s engagement, a human experimental test has been conducted involving 66 respondents among active gamers of the Millenials. Players’ engagement is measured through three phases of playing the game; pre-play, during play and post-play. Engagement analysis is conducted using simple descriptive analysis. Findings revelead that the respondents enjoyed and endured the game. Players’ suggestions on better appearance of 3A Guli will further enhance the game towards attracting and enhancing the engagement of the game.
