Abstract

M-learning is an innovative step towards developing an e-learning approach in learning and teaching. The development of technology has enabled the new generation of students to have wide and easy access to current information and knowledge through the use of mobile telephones. It is therefore vital that pedagogical innovation has to change in liase and at par with the current changes in technology. The purpose of this study is to identify the needs for designing m-learning model for Instructional technology in the teaching and learning processes in Teacher Training Institutes (IPG). Samples were 150 students and 4 experts from five Teacher Training Institutes (IPG) in the Northern Zone which were purposively chosen. The data was analysed descriptively using SPSS V20. Findings from the study indicated that there is a need to build m-learning model for Instructional Technology course in the respective 5 IPGs. The study illustrated substantial evidence of the potential of using and intergrating m-learning in the teaching and learning in Institut Pendidikan Guru.
