Abstract

This research aims to optimize the assignment of students to minor program at Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM). The goal of this research is to help the administrator in the assignment process. This research was held among the STML students in UUM and questionnaires were given to 50 random students in STML. An AMPL (A Mathematical Programming Language) software was used to solve the assigning the students to the minoring program. The result shows that all students will be assigned by one minor according to their preferred preferences.
