Abstract

The understanding of this research is a study on the factor that affect the areas of improvement in the existing Production and Operation Management (POM) curriculum from the perspective of the Universiti Utara Malaysia POM students. The reason for this research study is to identify whether the students know about the improvement of the specific terms of the curriculum. The objective is to identify the effect of the student learning process, industrial environment practice, performance skill of student and job description information of students on areas of improvement to the existing POM curriculum. The scope of this research mainly will be focused on University Utara Malaysia’s POM students which they are knowledgeable on the factor that affect the areas of improvement to the existing of POM curriculum. To attain the most significant result of the study, the information that is gathered for this research is mainly from the linkage through quantitative methods in gathering information and data. Through the questionnaire contributed, the students expressed their feelings, ideas, and comments on the subject matter. The finding indicates the factors of the student learning process and industrial environment practice significantly point out to the existing POM curriculum. Other factors such as performance skill of student and job description information to be marked as significant to the study and its need to be improved among students as well.
