Abstract
The paper seeks to provide insights into the concept of stakeholder collaboration and identifies issues relating to tourism stakeholder collaboration in the Chiang Rai region.In particular, it aims to uncover the nature of tourism stakeholder collaboration and how stakeholders perceived their roles.A qualitative approach is employeds to explore the roles and nature of tourism stakeholders collaboration. The findings indicates that vigorous stakeholder collaboration is perceived positively as a way to promote sustainable tourism development.This paper points to the need to understand tourism stakeholder collaboration as a critical tool for greater tourism development.The paper highlight the, recognition of potential of a tourism collaboration efforts and motives for joining tourism collaboration.In addition, the paper provides a better understanding of the nature of tourism stakholder collaboration in practice which include the issues of genuine participation, need for harmony, matching achievment to goals and project-based approach.Reccommentations are also provided to in order to ensure sustainable and healthy tourism development.
