Abstract

This study explores the influence of organisational innovativeness and culture on the adoption of sustainable construction among G7 contractors operating in Peninsular Malaysia.The purpose of this paper is to present the research model alongside hypotheses development, and the result of a preliminary study on organizational innovativeness, culture and adoption of sustainable construction among the large contractors (G7 contractors) operating in Malaysia.A pilot study was conducted, where a total of Forty-five (45) contracting firms’ representatives were sampled during the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) seminar on “Innovation & Technology Sustainable Construction”, held at Carlton Holiday Hotel & Suites, Shah Alam, Selangor on 16th June, 2015, with the aim of assessing the validity and reliability of the instruments that are intended for use in the main survey. The PLS-SEM measurement model was employed to assess the reliability and validity of the items in this study.The result shows that the measuring instruments are reliable and the data for pilot study indicated a strong evidence of rational validity.
