Abstract

An efficient and effective operation of supply chains has been a challenge task for practitioners.Management of a supply chain in reverse direction, referred as reverse logistics, becomes more challenging, particularly in the context of supply chains of perishable products. The disposal of the unused medicines, if not handled properly, it may be harmful for the living beings in the system. The present portion of the study examines the awareness of reverse logistic in pharmaceutical goods among Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) students at medical centre of UUM. The data are collected using a structured closed questionnaire administrated to different consumers sampled on convenience basis according to the current students who studying.Data are analyzed using descriptive and two independent sample t-test.The outcomes of this study are expected to help consumers about the awareness of reverse logistic in pharmaceutical and it could provide a safer, medicine-free domestic environment and help lead a more effective prescribing, thereby generating cost saving.
