Abstract

This study was focused on the work life balance, workload experience at workplace in relation to work life balance, and work life program valued as important among staff at a selected government ministry in Putrajaya.A total of 156 questionnaires were being distributed and used for this purpose. The findings of the study indicated that staff at the ministry frequently experience balance in their work life. Both male and female employees do experience similar level of work life balance. However, among them, men were reported to experience work life balance more frequently than women.Despite of the staff having frequent balance of work and non-work life, at the same time they were reported to have intermediate level of workload at workplace. The relationship between workload and work life balance among staff is negatively correlated.Although work life balance is at frequent level, but none of the work life program valued by the employees is associated with work life balance experienced by them. Nevertheless, there is a hope that programs valued by staff as important to them is applicable for future consideration by respective party in implementing policies that related to work life program.
