Corporate governance has becoming a vital issue which tremendously researched even in a small organization such as cooperative. However, none has studied in the context of Malaysian budget hotel rind accommodation cooperatives. This study investigated 56 Board of Directors' perceptions to find out thek awareness of the corporate governance and the existing guidelines in their cooperatives. 'The study also examined their perceptions toward nine aspects of cmparate g o v m c e such as mamgement, appoinbnent, respwibilities and accountability, mformatian, assessme& remuneration, auditing and control, communication and finally pmciples and values. The fmdmgs h~ghlighted ht board of Drrectors aware of the corporate governance practice and the existing guidelmes. Further, the fmdings also indicated positive perceptions regarding the practice which significantly contribdes to the management of budget hotel and accommdat~on cooperatmas to sustain the economy and community wealth
