Worn external to the body, wearable devices are usually used either attached as an accessories or embedded in clothes. Healthcare wearable devices arrays from the infamous fitness trackers such as Fitbit, iWatch or Samsung Gear to more specific devices for specific purposes such as Kardia Mobile, Nokia BMP+ or Muse. These devices are developed with a variety of benefits aimed towards their target customers. Apart from being a contributor towards better personalised health services, the device can save cost as well as time for both the patient as well as doctors. However as wearable health technologies usually rely a lot of user’s data this create serious concern regarding the data privacy due to the risk of being targeted with security breach from attackers. These are the challenges that wearable manufacturers and developers need to overcome in order to keep up with other technologies in the health industry.
