Abstract

The spiritual nature of parents in educating children has a tremendous impact not only on family relationships but also on the child’s own personality when they become adults. The purpose of this study is to identify the spiritual characteristics of parents who are often practiced with the students’ self esteem of the Faculty of Educational Studies, UPM. Respondents were 205 students, selected according to cluster sampling method. The instruments used were Parental Spiritual Characteristics Scales (PSCS) and Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES). The statistical test used is descriptive analysis and Pearson Correlation. The results showed that there was a relationship between the parents’ spiritual character and the self-esteem of the Faculty of Educational Studies, UPM. This study also benefits the university, parents and counselors in understanding aspects of parent’s spiritual traits and student self- esteem
