Abstract

Rice straw contains relatively high cellulose. Cellulose is a natural biopolymer that can be used as a bioplastic material. This study aimed to produce bioplastics from organic waste which is rice straw is used as a substitute to the conventional plastics and to estimate the cost of producing bioplastic. The production of bioplastic has been performed using the design of experiment (DOE) was done by using three methods. The results showed that the bioplastics have different characteristics depending on the material that added during making it become bioplastics. The future study should find an alternative to decrease the cost of making bioplastics.
