Choice of a tourist destination can be a critical factor where distance to travel is involved. The choice become further complicated as more costs are involved with more distance. In order to generate more value for vacation, distant tourists are known to conduct a multi-nation visit. There are perception among travel trade practitioners in Malaysia that distant tourists to Malaysia were transient in nature. The study found that, regardless distant tourists prior to Malaysia, most distant tourists were conducting a multi-nation visit, with Malaysia as part of their travel....Further, repeat tourists tend to spend more time in Malaysia than first-time visitors. While first-time visitors included an average of three countries in their travel ...., repeat visitors are visiting less countries for a vacation. Coincidently, the three countries that are frequently included in the travel....are Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand.
