Abstract

THE election for the three Umno vice-president posts on Oct 19 has all the makings of the most sizzling party polls in over 25 years.The last time the party that has provided the nation's six prime ministers saw such a pulsating race was in 1987 when Umno president Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad was almost unseated by challenger Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah, scrapping through by a mere 41-vote majority.
