Abstract
POLITICAL analysts described proposals by some Umno leaders that No. 1 and 2 posts should not be contested, as not reflecting the party's spirit of democracy. They said the amendment to the party's constitution to let more grassroots members decide on the election of the supreme council, would be pointless if their rights were denied.
