Abstract
Cost management skills are very important to achieve competitive advantage, especially in the globalisation era. However, SME owner managers in Malaysia still lack various entrepreneurial skills and knowledge, especially cost management skills.Furthermore, current entrepreneurial training programmes provided by the government do not include in-depth discussion on cost management skills. Thus, this research intends to develop cost management skills curriculum for training programmes of SMEs using an action research approach. The discussion of this paper is based on the action research cyclical process of planning, acting, observing and reflecting.Various data collection methods are employed, such as interviews, survey questions, documentary and observation.
