Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine the extent to which predictors of retirement planning behaviour influence pre-retirement bheaviour of working individuals in Malaysia. Specifically, this study attempts to investigate how self-awareness, organizational roles, and environmental factors influence their pre-retirement planning behaviour. A total of 300 government employees from various government ministries across Peninsular Malaysia participated in the study. Questionaires were pre-tested for validity before being distributed randomly to the respondents. The results show that self-awareness, organization roles and environment factors have a positive relationship with retirement planning. This finding should benefits the policy makers to enhance the effectiveness of retirement program for employees.
