Abstract

This paper examined the relationship between nutrition label use and dietary intake among the Malaysian consumers. To achieve this, the information about participants’ actual dietary intake was assessed and the dietary intake of those who used nutrition labels was compared with those who rarely or never used nutrition labels using the 24-hour dietary recall (24HDR). Results from the survey found that there are significant differences in terms of nutritional intake between label users and non-users, especially for the macronutrients.
