Bakri Mat (Ph.D.) is an Associate Professor and Deputy Dean at the School of International Studies, College of Law, Government, and International Studies, Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM). He has been with UUM for more than 20 years. On academic experiences, he actively engages in teachings, research, publications, and conferences. As a keen observer of international affairs and security discourse, his research interest covers threats to national security, international conflicts, nontraditional security issues [i.e., food security, terrorism, cyber security], and regional security dynamics and cooperation (i.e., ASEAN and ARF).
