Abstract

Purpose - This purpose of this research to efforts legal protection of copyright books holders on multiplication of books without permission is given to the creator and copyright holder in order to protect the moral and economic rights of creators and copyright holders of books.The implementation of legal protection of copyright holders of books on unlicensed copying of books has not been realized properly, because in practice there are still some of the barriers mentioned above, in essence people are less to comply with laws and regulations mainly related to intellectual property rights in the field of rights in particular copyright book.Methodology - The research method used in this research is descriptive analysis that is the research specification that describes the problem under study, with the normative juridical approach, the data obtained from the secondary law source used as the primary legal material in the form of laws, books, journals. data obtained from document studies are then analyzed by qualitative juridical, poured in the form of logical and systematic description.Findings - The government’s role in the protection of copyright law is basically an attempt to create a better climate for the growth and development of the creators in the fields of science, art and literature. Recognizing this, the Indonesian government established the Act No. 28 of 2014 replaces Act Number 19 of 2002 on Copyright.From the explanation it can be seen that the purpose of the birth of the law is obviously an attempt to provide better protection of the creator and copyright holder.Obstacles in the protection of Intellectual Property rights, especially in copyright in Indonesia, among others due to: lack of understanding of the public about the importance of copyright; economic condition; social and cultural rights in society; and law enforcement.
