Abstract
IT drizzled just before the cortege came. But when the flag-draped casket borne by eight smartly uniformed military sergeant majors finally arrived at the heroes' cemetery in Kuching, the sun appeared and the drizzle stopped. All present respectfully stood up. I raised my hand in military salute when it passed us, together with the other serving military and police officers and other ranks, to honor a true soldier, an Iban warrior and a friend.
