Abstract
This paper was written to identify the impact of British colonial government towards the education of Malays before and after independence (1874 – 1967). A collective impact of colonial education system towards Malaya indigenous people which is the Malay was done through library research method. Based on other studies and research paper done in this field, there are eight impact of colonial education system towards the Malay community which is 1) Secular Education; 2) Dualistic Education; 3) Systematic Education System; 4) Double Class Education; 5) The Exclusion of Indigenous Culture; and lastly 8) the Emancipation of Malay Women. This paper is significant towards our plural society to understand the ethnic integration and Malay centric policies that were enforced in our present national education system.
