Abstract
With the emergence of cryptocurrencies, the international money transfer industry is experiencing significant disruption. This paper aims to explore how cross-border money transfer processes are being altered by cryptocurrencies, and how these emerging technologies are impacting the global financial system and related regulations. We review the traditional methods of transferring funds across borders and contrast them with the new paradigms introduced by cryptocurrencies. The paper discusses the potential implications for regulators, financial institutions, and end-users, and explores possible future developments in this rapidly evolving field. The findings of this study will provide valuable insights to policymakers, financial practitioners, and researchers interested in the intersection of finance and technology.
