It is because an organisation especially zakat institutions could grasp an opportunity by exploiting “wisdom of crowds” to be resources for the organisation. The study serves to the theoretical contributions by understanding the knowledge of crowdsourcing concept and add the existing body of knowledge relating to the crowdsourcing research and philanthropy field. Meanwhile, the practical contributions, the findings of this study could motivate and encourage the zakat leaders or any other relevant institutions to embark and leverage crowdsourcing practices in their organisations for the sake of improving their organizational performance. Lastly, the findings of this study may offer information related to crowdsourcing in preparing policy and strategic plan of an organisation
