Abstract

This study was conducted to identify the level of Qiraat skills based on 21st-century teaching among teachers of Quranic Skills Classes (KKQ) in Kedah. This study was conducted using a set of questionnaires that were completed by 42 randomly selected KKQ teachers from various secondary schools in Kedah. Quantitative data from this questionnaire was analyzed descriptively using SPSS version 26.0 to obtain frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The Qiraat skills instrument contains 30 items and four skill dimensions (planning the teaching, implementation of the teaching process, implementation of the teaching methods, and reflection). The skill level was measured with a 5-point Likert scale ranging from "very unskilled" to "very skilled". The pilot study showed that the Qiraat skills Cronbach Alpha value among KKQ teachers was at the best level, which was a = 0.938. For skill items, the Cronbach Alpha value for the first element of planning the teaching skills was a = 0.962, the second element of teaching process implementation skills a = 0.956, the third element of teaching method implementation skills a = 0.859, and the fourth element of reflection skills was a = 0.848. On the whole, the findings showed the level of KKQ teachers' Qiraat Skills was at a moderately high level with a mean value of 3.84 and a standard deviation of .50. In conclusion, all parties, especially KKQ teachers, should improve their knowledge and skills related to 21st-century teaching in Qiraat to produce excellent human capital in the future
