Abstract

Since the global financial crises, most of developing countries have reformed the rules and regulations by presenting the high ethical standards in every facet of politic, economic and social life. In the current global environment, trust is the essential element which has been promoted in business organization. Integrity has been taken on the form of a new approach to governing and reducing corruption by demonstrating accountability towards individual, organizations, profession and society. Therefore, having integrity along the religious worldwide in solving human problem. The fundamental concept of corporate social responsibility(CSR) in Islam is based on understanding of the responsibility, social justice and social relations. Naturally, the Islamic Financial Institutions (IFIs) are found to firmly obey to the economic principles of Islam. This paper aims to explain the understanding behind the IFIs? corporate reporting by focusing on the integrity concept in the local CSR trend. Using the interview data with senior managers, there is further evidence that IFIs? senior managers wholly understand the view of integrity in local CSR and how integrity can be fostered in their organizations. The present study provides a starting point for further research in the global context of Islamic financial institutions? CSR
