Abstract

Universal Declaration of Human Right by United Nation in the 1948 and International Covenant on Economic, Sosial and Cultural Rights in the 1966 have highlight the right to a sufficient quality of life was acknowledged to include the right to appropriate housing. Affordability, habitability, accessibility, location, cultural appropriateness, and the availability of resources including services, materials, amenities, and infrastructure are possible aspects of adequate housing. The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in particular SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities" are key guiding principles that support the right to an appropriate standard of living, which includes adequate housing. Surprisingly, compared to other integration initiatives, the housing component of the integration of ordinary migrants has received little attention. This article's objectives are to explain adequate housing and impact, identify housing challenges by migrants and refugees, and illuminate approaches that have been applied from other nations. Content analysis has been used as qualitative approach. Data were collected from secondary sources, including books and journals.
